Air Conditioned and Air Cooled London Theatres
West End Theatres with Air Conditioning or Air Cooling Systems
Stay comfortable during London's hottest days with theatre venues designed to keep audiences cool throughout the performance.
Heatwaves are becoming an increasingly familiar part of the British summer, and sitting in a warm, crowded venue is rarely anyone's idea of a great night out. What many theatregoers don't realise, however, is that a large number of West End theatres are equipped with air conditioning or air cooling systems designed to help keep audiences comfortable throughout a performance.
Whether you're booking tickets during a spell of hot weather or simply prefer a cooler environment, choosing the right venue can make your theatre trip even more enjoyable. While cooling systems vary from theatre to theatre, many London venues have invested in technology that improves airflow and helps regulate temperatures across the auditorium.
Luckily, some of the West End's biggest shows are included. Escape to the Greek island paradise of MAMMA MIA! while still saying cool, roam the African savannah in The Lion King, immerse yourself in the steamy world of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, or even come face-to-face with a rather famous iceberg in Titanique The Musical — all from the comfort of a theatre designed to help keep audiences cool.
This guide highlights West End theatres with air conditioning or air cooling systems, making it easier to find productions where keeping cool is part of the experience. Browse the shows above and discover your next theatre trip, whatever the weather forecast has in store.
