About Carmen

Set in a remote Spanish town, Carmen follows the magnetic and free-spirited titular heroine, who lives by her own rules and warns that any man who loves her should beware. When she sets her sights on the disciplined police officer Don José, she draws him into a world of passion and danger. What begins as fascination quickly becomes a ruinous obsession, as José abandons his military career, his duty, and his former life for Carmen.

But Carmen’s nature is restless and fiercely independent. As her affection shifts towards the charismatic torreador Escamillo, Don José’s jealousy builds into despair, driving him towards an inevitable and devastating breaking point.
