What is Wicked About?
Wicked follows the untold story behind the witches of Oz, long before Dorothy arrives. At Shiz University, two very different young women - green-skinned outsider Elphaba and effortlessly popular Glinda - form an unlikely friendship that changes both of their lives. As they uncover the truth behind the Wizard's increasingly corrupt government, their paths begin to diverge. While Elphaba chooses to challenge injustice, Glinda finds herself drawn towards power and popularity. Blending humour, heart and spectacular spectacle, Wicked explores themes of friendship, prejudice, propaganda and female empowerment, revealing that history isn't always told by those who deserve to tell it.
